Ich bin ein New Yorker...(And yeah Allen is back!)

Hello dear readers (if they exist...), PMPS is back!
Well summer ended here in Germany already, so I guess I better start blogging as usual, I mean who wants to sit in front of a computer when the sun is still out and shine...So someone's been a bit lazy and plus there were all these summer vacations going on...
Allen myself was at home in China and...yes in New York!

Now I really want to sort of make my mark and shout "Ich bin ein New Yorker"!
New York mesmerizes me.
New York interests me.
New York inspires me.
You know this feeling that you met someone for the first time and you somehow had that feeling you knew him/her for a long time? Yes, that describes exactly my first impression of New York. And I have to say, out of all the cities I have ever been, this is rare.
I imaged a thousand times how I would feel when I walk down Park, 5th, when I pass through west village, upper east side. But when I really get the chance to do this, it felt none of the imaginary scenarios. It felt so real. It felt so assessable.

When I see New York, I didn't see skyscrapers, I didn't see yellow cabs, I didn't see people in suits, I didn't see billboards.
I see the skies between the skyscrapers, It wasn't intimidating for me, I thought I was magical.
I see the steam coming out of the manhole covers, I thought that was New York for me.
I see the mimic of people. They scream to me what does it take to be a New Yorker. Because everybody is a fucking superstar.
I see the light, the halo coming from the billboards. It reflected on the street and on to people, cars, glasses, it lights up the whole city for 24 hours.
I don't think New York is definable, so does every individual.
So everybody will tell a different story about New York. You will have your own version of New York Story.

I love the style of New York. Because everything is there. If you walk from the upper east to the mid town, from the mid town to lower east and then to Little Italy and Soho, to the Village, you can see everything. If we see Paris as elegant chic, London as traditional, Berlin as trashy hipster, you will find everything in New York.
I was so inspired everyday walking down the street, the diversity is just off the charts.

Also I spent an afternoon with the Chinese-American street style photographer Melodie Jeng, we had a wonderful time and make sure to check out her blog @ http://www.thenycstreets.com/

Here please enjoy the photos. And go tell your own New York story...

XO,
Allen
